K59 Atelier was established in 2018 by two Architects, Phan Lam Nhat Nam and Tran Cam Linh. The architects have the opportunity to undertake various projects, whether private or Non-profit. Adaptive Architecture Design Thinking plays an important role in the approach and design process of K59 Atelier. All projects begin with a survey of the current status, assessing the advantages and disadvantages of the land and finding the unique characteristics of each area. The architecture will be formed based on the user's needs and the characteristics of the land, rather than from a personal aesthetic perspective. K59 finds it interesting to see the project interact with the surrounding space as well as observe the activities and actual changes of residents in the new living environment.
Before starting any project, architects always ask themselves: How can people of different generations live together, and can the old and the young share a common space? Can people adapt to the weather and climate of the place they live, and give up the closed lifestyle with air conditioning? Can architecture educate or change the thinking of children? Why do we need to cut down trees to build a new urban area or a new development? Can we coexist, thrive, and find peace with nature? And what is the role of architects in society?
